Description

Trans-Styrilacetic acid is a benzene and carboxylic acid used as an organic building block and in chemical synthesis. The substance has been a mechanism-based inhibitor for peptidylglycine α-hydroxylating monooxygenase. Its hydrogen bond system displays a polarized IR spectra. Its crystalline spectra has been studied and categorized as temperature-induced; the nu(OH) and nu(OD) bands were shown to have two-branch structures.

Trans-styrilacetic acid has anti-inflammatory effects as an inhibitor of neuropeptide bioactivation. As a secondary alcohol, it’s included in the fragrance structural group of aryl alkyl alcohols and is incorporated in makeup, perfume, shampoo, soap and household cleaners.
